More Than 40 Years of Experience
Praxis Pirnay is a physiotherapy practice with three locations: Cologne-Worringen (since 1981), Cologne-Esch (since 2004) and Düsseldorf-Unterbilk (since 2025). Since December 2019 the practice has been owned by Ellyn Pirnay, a state-certified physiotherapist. We treat patients with any statutory or private health insurance as well as self-paying patients. With a doctor’s prescription we also treat you at home or in your nursing home: in the north of Cologne and in Düsseldorf-Unterbilk, there within about one kilometre of the practice.
It all began with the employment of Sylvia Pirnay, née Bourmer, by the City of Cologne at Worringen Hospital. At that time, her father, Prof. Dr Horst Bourmer, was Chief Consultant of the clinic.
In December 2019, Ellyn Pirnay took over both practices, whilst Sylvia Pirnay remained as a therapist. Every patient is unique. That is why we tailor our treatment in consultation with physicians to precisely meet your requirements and needs.

The step-free physiotherapy practice in Cologne-Esch comprises 250 sq m with 8 rooms. The practice in Cologne-Worringen has around 300 sq m with 7 rooms and was renovated and modernised in 2025/26.
