Do I need a doctor's prescription?
Yes, for billing with health insurance you need a prescription from your doctor. Private treatments are also possible without a prescription.
What should I bring to treatment?
Please bring your doctor's prescription, comfortable athletic clothing, a towel, and possibly medical reports or X-rays. For the first treatment, please plan about 45-60 minutes.
Does health insurance cover the costs?
Statutory health insurance covers the costs with a doctor's prescription. You only pay the statutory co-payment of 10 euros per prescription plus 10% of treatment costs. Private insurance is billed according to individual rates.
How long does a treatment session last?
A standard treatment lasts 20 minutes. Depending on the prescription and therapy type, treatment times can vary between 15 and 60 minutes.
What is the difference between Krankengymnastik and Physiotherapy?
Krankengymnastik and Physiotherapy essentially mean the same thing. 'Physiotherapy' is the more modern, internationally used term. In Germany, 'Krankengymnastik' is still commonly used on medical prescriptions.
